The Youth League 

Friday night January 6th starting at 6:30PM (Practices at 6:00)

• The league is open to non-members so encourage some new kids to come and try archery.
• You and your friends can participate on a single night or sign up for the whole 10-week league.
• Tell them Sherwood has 3 youth bows and an assortment of used arrows. These bows (Matthews Genesis) have a draw weight of 15 to 25 lbs. and a variable draw length, made to accept most youth archers. Of course these bows will need to be used on a rotational basis so all beginners get a turn. Most kids have their own equipment.
• As usual we will be shooting at paper targets and 3D foam animal targets at 10, 15, and 20 yards, indoors.
• Archers will need at least 6 arrows, more is better.
• To help aid supervision, one Parent per two youth is necessary for safety concerns. Besides stick around the adults can shoot and score with the kids.
• Non-member league fees are $50 per archer or $7 per night.
• Member fees are half.
• This league does not provide formal instruction, but tips and pointers are offered.
• The league is more of a “for fun” and intro to archery.
• Scores are kept to show individual progress, there isn’t a top shooter recognition. Rather all youth shooting in 50% of the league will receive a participation plaque or trophy.
• The last night of league is the party with pizza and soda and novelty shoots (balloons, swinging targets, etc.)
